Failure Investigations Technician Galway

On behalf of our client Phillips Career Solutions Ltd have an immediate requirement for a Failure Investigations Technician

The candidate must have the following:

Diploma or certificate (Degree level desirable but not essential) in electronic engineering or related discipline.
At least 3+ year experience of PCBA failure investigation.
The person should be a self-started with the ability the quickly learn multi-product operation principles.
Strong technical background in electronics and electro-mechanical medical device investigation is essential.
Experience in the use of schematic and PCB layout design packages are desirable.
Ability to liaise with sustaining engineering and R+D on complex technical issues to identify root cause.
Experience of providing detailed feedback of issues to manufacturing, design and field service, to drive corrective actions.
Experience of working with quality system / regulatory requirements is desirable.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Faultfinding of field return printed circuit board and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level to identify root cause.
Technical write up of investigation details and the reporting of trends.
Complete failure investigation in a timely manner, prioritizing MDR’s ( Medical Device Reportable )
Liaise with external vendors on component failure analysis.
Participate in FI technical review meetings to initiate corrective action as appropriate.
Contribute to Six-Sigma, Lean and Operational Excellence projects.
Perform operations in accordance with established safe working procedures, regulations, standards and general safety rules ensuring that attention is given to special hazards associated with the particular area of work.
Bring safety and environmental issues (unsafe conditions and practices, accidents, illnesses) to attention of Management
Participate in safety and environmental improvement activities as directed by Management
