On behalf of our client Phillips Careers Solutions Ltd have a requirement for a Vendor Engineering Technician . This is a six month contract.
Candidates with medical device experience highly desirable.
The primary function of this role is to support the Vendor Engineers in their Vendor Engineering responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
·Drive part analysis in conjunction with VE using CMM (coordinating measuring machine).
·Review/Analysis of material in MRB (material review board) to establish root cause. Working as part of a cross functional team with the VE to drive resolution of issues identified.
·Review material in RTV (return to vendor) and ensure that RGA’s (return goods authorisation) are requested timely. Ensure that RTV target is met at each month end roll up
·Support Vendor Engineers on New Product Introduction
·Co-ordinate external analysis of components under direction from VE’s.
·Support VE’s on particular aspects of SSI’s (strategic sourcing initiative) – documentation collection/distribution, analysis of results and implementation of selected solutions.
·Minor ECO (engineering change order) Updates (Documentation corrections, Audit schedule update, AVL etc).
·Follow all environmental, health & safety rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities in order to improve the workplace for all employees
Skills/Knowledge :
Minimum third level qualification, preferably in engineering
Relevant Engineering experience or Product Knowledge.
Excellent Organisational skills.
Excellent Communication / Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Understanding of Quality System Requirements
Excellent knowledge of such packages as Excel, Word, Any CAD package
